Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and fleeing from the police in the wee hours of Saturday morning, according to an Arkansas sheriff’s office.
Why was Mayfield, a Texas native and redshirt junior at the University of Oklahoma, partying it up in Arkansas? No one’s quite sure, but the Internet had plenty of jokes to crack once the news of his arrest broke.

According to the official police report, the officer that arrested Mayfield chased him down and tackled him to the ground. As you can guess, the jokes just keep on rolling.
Arkansas should definitely sign whichever cop caught a fleeing Baker Mayfield. Best defense played by any Razorback this year.

Mayfield, who led the Sooners to a Big 12 conference championship and a Sugar Bowl victory last season, is (or was) a favorite to win the next Heisman Trophy. Did his drunken night out in Arkansas ruin that and his future NFL Draft stock?
Baker Mayfield: Yet another star athlete who’s a victim of alcohol and being out at 2:30 a.m. This won’t help his Heisman chances.
